Don't be fooled by the color! There is wax over the top that exudes from the leather that when wiped off reveals a nice worn leather look. The boots are very comfortable and require no break in. They are pretty true to size, if you wear an 11 1/2 get the 12. It's a soft leather with a bit of what appears to be a light soft wool lining on the inside. The boots are well made and at this price a bargain!
